Waiting...

Sometimes you have to get away from someone so special to you...
when you have something really beautiful with someone, a realtionship beyond description. After sometime you want more out of it and destroy the closeness, so you stop and wait...
wait for the person come around, and if the feelings are true, if you are meant to be together... you will be.Waiting...

a poem...

no safe passage, none of it
all there's left is an empty world
and trapped within it is the false being.
the being, being the realization of self
breaking out wasn't easy,it isn't.
what was the point, is of it all.
deep down some where, still the answer was there
but the thick covering of the system
so perfectly imperfect...
the soul cried, still crying.
waiting... waiting...
someday, blood will flow
the covering will go
something's gotta give
when is the time right...
soul is still crying out loud
waiting... waiting...
human, being called
'I' being 'said', 'We' being 'just said'
what it meant...
closed are the eyes of righteousness
and the soul is still
waiting... waiting...

When I walked alone… (abstract)

I saw the highway that seemed endless on both sides. I started off towards the horizon and walked on, till I could feel the heavy breeze on my face. As I sat in the shade, hundreds of trucks went past me. While on the highway I never realized all the other fellow travelers were as lost as I was. Just when I took a break, I could actually see all the others with me on this journey and I could connect. With an outsider’s POV right there, I imagined myself as that traveler. You know the greatest victory of all; It’s when a traveler gets to their destination. They say everything happens for a reason, and this is the belief that kills me sometimes… I mean I know I have to keep moving on like others but I would always be dissatisfied. I would always ask, “What’s the reason?” I don’t know if that’s the right question or not and I can’t be indifferent like others, I can’t accept what they call the eternal truth, because the question will still stand; What’s the reason of it all? It’s this sense of life that makes us human and its these questions that keep us going till the end, whenever that comes…

GETTING OVER IT(er)... Part 2

So the results, well KIIT won and ITER's Metamorphs were the runner-up, but to us we won... we performed to win hearts and we did... we won lots of em... ;-)

I won't comment on the results as we came to know that there were virtually no judges (but personally i loved Decibal, the band from trident and our performance, the others were either bad or too self-indulged to connect with the audience, because at the end of the day we perform for the audience)

GETTING OVER IT(er)... (part1)

20th jan, our band was filled with anxiety as we boarded our train to bhubaneswar. we were going to perform at ITER, Bhubaneswar...
We reached on 20th evening and were provided accommodation in one of ITER hostels and stayed the night there... it was the big opportunity for us to prove our mantle as a rock band in bhubaneswar, where there are lot more rock fans and opportunities for us than in Berhampur...

we had heard a lot about the other bands, how they were really good and had brilliant instruments but you don't really get the feeling until you've experienced it...

So we waited on 20th, for the show to start. We were not much impressed by the organizers though... It was so disorganized and lame that it didn't even look like a real tech fest, mostly because of the final year students who had no coordination among them, they didn't really took it as a Big Deal... Its experience like these that makes us realize how organized and better our college is, which we normally don't realize being in berhampur and scolding our college all the time...

Anyways, 21st evening came and we were all charged up, we saw all the other bands arriving, the sound system was probably the best and so was the the drum(jazz)set provided but the technicians did a really crappy job , so sound mixing really made every band's performance look bad. So we were at the green room after taking a good look at the competition and the audience and started off with the "NaNa" chant from Euphoria... Looking at the other bands we knew that they were technically more sound and had better(read costlier) instruments and even some of the other band members weren't ven students but professionals, so we decide to stick to our USP, our desiness and our composed songs...

So it was around 8pm when we went to stage and we were the second band to perform. The sound testing was confusing but what followed for the next 30 minutes was magic, the group performed with energy and euphoria and probably some mistakes in between but what mattered was the cheer from the audience, which by the way was the loudest for ny band that night, probably because we weren't performing but enjoying... and the crowd was enjoying with us, what a friend from ITER told us sums it up well-"Mujhe nei laga ki tum log compete karne ke liye aaye the, stage pe tum log jo enjoy kar rahe the, isiliye humne bhi bahut enjoy kiya... thank you guys..." This and numerous other compliments made our journey and hard work worth it... here are some of the captures...(also some caps in my next post...)
