contd... Power of ONE

Now we haven’t ever broken the law, always celebrated the Independence Day, cheered for India, then how are we not worthy citizens? The other day I saw a guy giving a great speech of patriotism on the birth day of the Mahatma, after the thunderous applause from the crowd he went backstage put his paan in his mouth and started spitting those red fluids all over the place. Of course it was a public place, and he is the public, so that gives him the right to spoil the place.
Now let’s talk about us, a friend of mine who always considered himself a good citizen was waiting outside a govt. office that provided driving license. He had to attend a party and was in a hurry so instead of waiting for his turn he went up to the chaprashi and handed him a 10rs note and got in time for the party. As I asked him about it he said, the system is already flawed. I didn’t start anything new. Agreed, the system is flawed, what exactly does that mean.
System; it’s made up off people, the public and the public comprises of me, you, basically us. So that means we are flawed. Each time we break the rule or encourage someone to break it we are enhancing the flaw in the so called system. Keeping mum about such acts is an equal crime, a crime to the country. The thing that disappoints me the most is when the youth, today’s India also joins the trend of blaming others. It’s high time now to stop blaming and try to find a solution together.
Change in a society starts with change in one individual, change in yourself, myself, basically the self. The power of one is always underrated; power of one is the power to do something, anything. The Mahatma once said, come to think of a solution I always stop at points where I think it might not work with others, then I stop thinking about others and apply the solution to myself and gradually every one else follow. So why don’t you stop loitering the highway, patch up the hole on the road. Why not plant a tree or make sure to vote. You have the power to change yourself, your country, our country.
